Skills for Life™ Summer Camp FOR SERIOUS ILLNESSES
Outward Bound Netherlands has established a pilot partnership with SeriousFun Children’s Network and Erasmus MC Sophia Children’s Hospital to provide children living with blood conditions a spectacular camp experience and high-quality medical care, in the safest and most supportive environment.
FOR AGES 8 – 15 | DURATION 5 DAYS
Where kids are not defined by their illnesses
For children with serious health challenges, life is often impacted by missed opportunities to participate in the everyday activities enjoyed by their friends and peers. This can result in isolation, poor self-esteem and low confidence, which can become a barrier to future growth and development.
Our camps are designed to bring about transformational change and tackle these issues. We aim for every camper to return home empowered with a new sense of ambition and confidence in their abilities.
Our camps take place in a medically safe environment overseen by a dedicated team of doctors and nurses, which means that campers are fully supported with medical assistance on hand.
THE CAMP EXPERIENCE
Our camps focus on helping young people who experience health challenges to become aware of and apply their incredible abilities and talents. Based on a model leveraged by SeriousFun Children’s Network, our 4-step camp programmes incorporate Challenge, Success, Reflection, and Discovery.
